PROJECT OVERVIEW
A cinematic media artwork moving from a dark Chaekgado interior into the symbolic landscape of Irworobongdo.
The journey from an enclosed bookcase to a landscape of sun, moon, five peaks, and water was finished for two distinct exhibition formats.
LEE JOON-SUH / CONTRIBUTION
Directed Chaekgado and Irworobongdo as one spatial journey, completing the work from Unreal Engine production through Nuke compositing and two venue formats.
Planned and directed the transition from Chaekgado to Irworobongdo
Designed both environments, cameras, and lighting in Unreal Engine 5.7
Built the dense shelf environment with Meshy AI, Maya, and Substance Painter
Reconstructed day, night, waterfalls, reflections, and fog from EXR renders in Nuke

FINAL VISUAL SEQUENCE

CASE / PROCESS
From production problem to final image
Challenge
The symbolic balance of the paintings had to remain legible across two very different ultra-wide displays.
Process
- Structured the space and lighting so moonlight and sunlight meet at the central five peaks.
- Composited the waterfalls from separate sources to reduce particle flicker and noise.
- Reframed focal points and key objects for the H.art1 and Gate DS displays.
Result
Selected for DMAF 2026 exhibition and prepared for the distinct screen formats at Gate DS and H.art1.
